Glamping (well, not really, but sort of, in a way...in the best way) | {The Serenity Project}

One would definitely not consider tent camping, "glamping" in any way, shape or form. Most seasoned campers would likely have a good laugh at our expense, but that wouldn't bother us a bit! Our modest little tent and sleeping bags are all we need to enjoy the great outdoors here in Alaska. Sure, a camper with a real bed and 'facilities' would be kind of nice (especially on those rainy nights that inevitably happen), but the real reason to even be out there in the first place, as you can imagine, is to be a part of this amazing scenery and landscape. There is nothing like getting out - being completely surrounded and engulfed by the beauty. Everything else just goes away for that moment in time. The enormity of the mountains, the blue of the water and the sky, the shrill call of the eagle...nothing else compares. To float silently on the river and just take it all in. By definition, among a few other things, glamorous means: fantastic, marvelous and romantic...so yeah, I'd say we were "glamping", BIG TIME!

That evening, after we returned home and got all unpacked, we were treated to quite a lovely display at sunset (which this time of year is after 11:00 p.m.)

The Serenity Project is a collaborative photography project featuring words and images from several amazing artists that in some way, bring them encouragement or a sense of peace and calm and it is our hope that the feeling is conveyed and passed on to you. Please continue the circle by going to Iris Nelson, Metro Phoenix Photographer to find out what she has to share this month.
