...with a touch of flaked salt to take them to the next level!
It's hard to find anything better than an old school chocolate chip cookie, with an ice cold glass of milk to wash it down. For some it brings back memories of a special time, place or person in their life, and for others, it's just plain ol' good eating and hits the spot!
This is a classic cookie recipe with a sprinkle of some beautiful, tasty salt at the end - it's the perfect complement to the sweet of the chocolate and will make you crave these cookies at all hours!
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Heat oven to 375 degrees
2 1/4 C flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1/2 C butter
1/2 C shortening
3/4 C sugar
3/4 C brown sugar
1 t vanilla
2 eggs
2 C chocolate chunks (or chips if you prefer)
Flaked salt or chunky sea salt for finishing
In a bowl, combine the flour, soda and salt. In another bowl, combine butter & shortening, sugars and vanilla. Mix until creamy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Gradually add flour mixture and finally the chocolate chunks/chips. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Upon removal from the oven, sprinkle with the flaked salt and allow to cool (if you can stand to wait!). Enjoy!
