Ice, Ice Baby | {The Serenity Project}

"All right, stop! Collaborate and listen"....(sorry, I couldn't help myself!)

Ahhh...winter in Anchorage, Alaska...I know, you are envisioning billowing snow drifts and spruces, their boughs dipping down with the weight of the copious amounts of fluffy snow...a veritable winter wonderland right out of the paintings of Norman Rockwell and the Currier and Ives prints of yesteryear....

...I wish.

As I am writing this to share with you, almost every bit of our beautiful snow we have gotten so far this season is gone, thanks to warm temps and rain/freezing rain that should be snow. Bring on the grey, dirty, muddy, wet mess that will be tracked into the house until the next snowfall!

All, however, is not lost. Freezing rain, while likely not the most desirable setting we like to find ourselves in, whether driving or walking around your yard with your camera, does tend to create some amazingly beautiful scenes that evoke tranquility and a peaceful quietness...so I got bundled up and walked around the yard in the rain and attempted to capture some of those feelings.

The Serenity Project is a collaborative photography project featuring images from several amazing artists that bring them a sense of peace and calm and it is our hope that the feeling is conveyed and passed on to you. Please continue the circle by going to Lori McLellan | Calgary, Alberta area Photographer's page to find what brought her some serenity this month.

Thanks so much for visiting my page!
